- Neal Koblitz: A course in number theory and
cryptography. This book is written on a higher level, more dense, additional material, meant also for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Wade Trappe, Lawrence C. Washington: Introduction to Cryptography with Coding Theory. This book is meant for undergraduate students, has more detailed explanations, and also provides programming examples.
- Syllabus
- Lecture Notes will be updated as we go along.
- Homework: Homework problems are taken from the lecture notes, they are posted below, and they are due Fridays at 5pm in the folder marked Math 134 in the file cabinet located on the first floor of McHenry, opposite of classroom 1240. Some homework problems will consist of writing programs. You are free to use any programming language. These programming problems are not required but meant as fun projects for those inclined to learn more about the practical part of cryptography.
